Welfare Checks
Volunteers in this role visit community locations to gather information regarding reports of chained dogs, animals kept outdoors year-round, or neglectful situations where dogs are confined to porches, kennels, or other areas inside the home.
New volunteers start by observing and documenting conditions. As you gain experience, your role can expand to contacting owners and offering our assistance.
Time commitment: Flexible. Goes where the reports are.
Supply Drops
Our Supply Drop program delivers essential pet food and supplies directly to families in underserved neighborhoods to ensure no animal goes hungry. Volunteers gather the needed supplies, drop them off at the family's doorstep, and send a quick message to let them know their drop-off has arrived. It is a simple, completely no-contact way to make a direct impact and keep local pets fed and cared for at home.
Time commitment: Simple and completely no-contact.
Community Outreach
Every month, our dedicated volunteers divide up underserved neighborhoods to maximize our reach. During these community outreach days, we check in on reported chained or neglected dogs, conduct follow-up visits with the animals we assist, and deliver essential food and supplies to ensure their well-being.
Time commitment: Drop days and scheduled outreach events.
Events
We host and attend events all over the Milwaukee area to raise awareness and support. Help staff the booth, run games, hand out treats, and meet a lot of great dogs and people.
Time commitment: A few weekend hours, mostly summer.
